Is the ESR RF11 A Good Car Wheel?

What's going on guys? Welcome back to our review series - for today's wheel review we'll be taking a look at a wheel from ESR's newest lineup of rotary formed wheels, the ESR RF11. This is a stellar example of what happens when you take bold, striking design and mix it with top-tier lightweight construction quality, and that leads the RF11 to be a class-leader for just about every car. Come check out what the RF11 brings to the table below!

ESR RF11 Wheel Design Cues and Construction Specs

The first thing that stands out on the ESR RF11 is the insanely deep concavity that it has, and from here, we can observe an aggressive sort of 10-spoke design too. With this split 10-spoke design, the RF11's roots are essentially overlaying two split five-spoke wheels over each other at a 35-ish degree angle. That's more apparent when you take a look at the ESR RF15, but that's a story for another time (tomorrow, spoiler alert).

Anyway, the additional spokes of this wheel design give it a more aggressive and sinister look, especially with a Matte Graphite finish. You'll also notice a lot of other details around this wheel that are both aesthetically pleasing and help reduce the overall weight of the wheel. You'll see it in the milling around the lug holes in the front and on the spokes themselves, and in the pocketing of the back pad. We're also big fans of how ESR recessed the step-lip to give you more of a floating spoke look to really maximize the depth of the wheel.

ESR RF11 Weight Rating and Pricing

With the RF11 being rotary formed, you won't have a ton of added weight on a design like this either. Our example is an 18x10.5 +22, and it weighs out at a crazy 23 pounds - that's pretty gnarly with all these spokes and the big concavity.

Now, at this point you must be thinking "Damn, this is pretty cool, but it also must be damn expensive." but the coolest part about rotary forming is that it doesn't cost that much more to produce than a cast wheel. A set of four 18x10.5s will only set you back around $1080, and at the lowest price point, the 18x8.5 starts at $1030. In fact, the most expensive ESR RF11 model, in a 20x10.5 size, is still under $1300. Plus, if you package these bad boys together with a set of tires, you'll save even more money because we'll mount, balance, and ship them to you for free.
