So you bought your first car and now its time to ruin it!

We're joking of course, but we know that the modification itch has come and with so many parts, you're not sure where to start.

That's why we're going to tell you what we think are the best first mods to do to your car!

1. Coilovers

First and foremost, we feel that coilovers are definitely one of the best first mods you can do to your car.

Most coilovers are relatively simple to install and they drastically change your car, both cosmetically and mechanically.

Coilovers will allow you to adjust the height, dampening, and so many more things that all change the way your car handles.

And, of course, they are one of the best ways to lower your car.

Now you could substitute the coilovers with lowering springs if you just want the low look, or air suspension if you just so happened to save $3000 to dump into suspension on your first car.

2. Wheels

Wow, this one probably comes as a surprise from a wheel company.

But we truly feel that wheels are one of the most important aspects of the car.

Wheels can make or break the look of your ride and also even change the way it handles.

Wheels are one of the biggest things people notice when they look at a car and they are one of the best ways to express your creativity and style on your car.

3. Tires

Tires are the most aesthetically subtle way to drastically improve your car.

Tires can arguably be considered the most important mod you can ever do to your car because of how much they can change the way your car feels.

Go pick up a set of performance tires and get ready to destroy all of your friends in autocross because your car will feel like it's on rails!

4. Exhaust

Ah yes, if this is your first car, you've probably already had the thoughts about taking a reciprocating saw to the pipe right before your muffler and going to town.

But what we're really talking about here is an exhaust system.

A real exhaust setup will not only make your car sound better but will allow it to breathe better and ultimately result in an increase in horsepower.

What's not to love? Making your car louder AND faster. It sounds like a good deal all around!

5. Aero

This one is probably overlooked a lot but chances are, your first car isn't the most aggressive looking car on the market.

This is where aero comes in. Sometimes just adding a small splitter or trunk lip is all you need to be able to make your car stand out from its round-shaped brethren.

We're not talking about Battle Aero stuff like chassis mount wings and huge canards. But sometimes adding just that little bit of aero can make your car look completely different.

This has been our top 5 first mods for your car. With so many options for parts out there, it can be hard to decide what to buy first. Hopefully we helped you eliminate some things you may be better off waiting for and opened your eyes to some easy, yet important mods you should do first!
