How to Properly Clean Your Car Windows

Fitment Industries Author | | October 25th, 2018 |

  • - What up you guys? It's Claire back again for Fitment Industries and today we're gonna talk about cleaning your windows. I know you're probably looking at your screen like Okay, what's so hard about that, but it is actually a lot tougher than you would think. So we're gonna show you the right way to do that, and the right way to do it starting off is definitely not using this. I know you're familiar with it. I know it's probably like your best friend, but if you're using it right now just stop, just drop it, just put it away. I don't want it anywhere near your windows. Instead, we're gonna use our glass cleaner. Now, I love this stuff. I use it on my vehicles. A couple good things about this stuff is is number one, it does not have ammonia. Ammonia is what's gonna scratch your tint. Most you guys out there in the modified car community do have those tinted windows, so this will be safe for you guys. Also, it does have wax additives in it. So when you spray it on your window, it also makes dirt, grime, bugs easier to clean off, wipe off. Not only that but when it's raining and you're driving, it does help the rain to sheet off a little bit more and make it easier to see. So starting off usually you're gonna wanna use a micro fiber that is a window specific micro fiber. I'm setting a bad example right now, don't yell at me, I know this is a normal all purpose micro fiber, but it still works. If you're not crazy into detailing. If you don't want to spend the money, you can always just use a normal microfiber. Just keep in mind that it will leave a little bit of lint or fuzzes behind, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it. The first thing you're gonna wanna do when you're cleaning a window is dampen that rag just a little bit.

Do not overdo it. It makes it really hard to clean. Really hard to get all those streaks out, and it just leaves a mess. So then, you're just gonna wanna lightly mist that window. Don't worry about getting all the excess all over here on the roof or anything like that. You can always clean that up with the quick detailer later. You're just gonna wanna take obviously that damped side, and you're gonna wanna clean the window. Once you go over with the first pass, you'll probably see a couple streaks here and there, but that's not a big deal because also when you're cleaning windows, especially if you're cleaning a whole car, you're gonna want two micro fibers, a damp one and a dry one. What you're gonna wanna do with that dry one is follow up and just go over that window again. That is what will actually take those streaks off. Alright you guys, we are gonna show you a close up of this, but just taking a quick look at it and feeling it. I mean it's not dramatic, but you can tell that there's a little bit of something on there, and it is very, very clean, streak free. Literally, whatever angle you look at it, it looks perfect.
