Reviewing OUR Cars | From the Gallery Ep. 5

Fitment Industries Author | | July 29th, 2018 |

  • - Hey guys, what's goin' on, it's Alex from Fitment Industries.
    - And I'm Dom from Fitment Industries.
    - And I'm Jasper from Fitment Industries.
    - And we'll get better at that eventually.
Now you guys have asked us what our cars were so that you could rate our cars. So we decided to oblige you. So we're going to be reviewing our own cars today, little bit of a self-roasting session, but then on top of that we want you guys to rate our cars below, one through ten. We'll put descriptions in the comments below of each of our cars so you can take a look at all the other pictures
    - and stuff like that.
    - And the gallery of specific mods, yeah.
    - Galleries.
And then we'll be back for our normally scheduled reviewing cars next time.
    - That you send us.
    - Yeah.
But this time we're going to be talking about our cars and we're gonna give each other a very hard time. And so in just the tradition of how interns work, you're going first.
    - I get to go first.
    - Alright, we'll see ya in 20.
    - God, I have to walk
    - (Beep) me.
    - Yeah, like a glove.
    - That does not get old.
    - [Jasper] This is my 1997 BMW, 328i.
I have a felony form wide body kit on it, and I have SSR koenigs that I built myself that are 17 x 10 negative 3 with a four inch lip. I have a 215/40 nitto neogen that can hold air sometimes. Uh, you know, your typical E36 camera stubs bolts with washers in the front. I got, you know, the rare inpro tail lights, as long as with a rare-ish OEM hardtop, normally just costs as much as another E36. Fortune Auto 500 12k spring rate in the front, and Broadway Static which is just like Fortune Auto. Broadway Static 22k spring rate in the rear.
    - Alright, so.
    - Stiff.
    - I do dig the overfenders, I think that's a nice touch. I also dig the two tone black that you've got going on, I think that's really good.
    - [Jasper] Rude.
    - I dig the wheels, SSR cue-nigs.
    - [Jasper] Koenigs.
    - Cue-nigs.
    - [Jasper] Right.
    - They are cool wheels.
I think you're powder coating those too, aren't you?
    - [Jasper] Yeah, so they're going to be sparkling white.
    - Cool, I dig that.
Um, the hardtop I dig, I dig the hardtop a lot. I like, I'm not a huge super stancey wheel guy, I think it looks pretty decent though, considering. Um, but the fact that you blew two tires just confirms my suspicions that it's a bad idea. So, I'm glad that we got that out of the way, I'm going to sit back down so that I don't have to look at it anymore.
    - Yeah I'm with Alex on that, I'm all about functional, and like I said for, it's nice. But this isn't my style. And that just, it amazes me that it's static, I just can't imagine driving around something like this, I drive in a Monster Truck.
I like it, I like it.
    - OK.
    - Alright, so out of 10.
    One, two three--five.
    - 15.
    - Six.
    - What?
    - 15 out of 10.
    - You can't, I don't think you can--
    - Nope, 15 out of 10.
    - Um, alright.
    - Sweet, next car, Alex's.
    - Whoo!
    - OK.
We are now reviewing Alex's car. His Porsche Beetle.
    (engine humming and revving)
    - Let me just, don't know if you...
    - [Jasper] What is that for? What is that for?
    - Best Porsche with red wheels, right, OK.
We got some modular concepts which aren't made anymore. 19 x 8.5 in front, 19 x 11's in the rear. Plus 45 offset in the front, plus 50 in the rear. With 5 mil spacers in the front, 13 mil spacers in the rear. On Moton coilovers with custom i-box spring rates, and Moton strobe bars, electronic dampening, GT28 turbos, intercooler exhaust, tires tune, tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Fronts, 235/35's and 305/25/19 Toyo Proxes T1R's in the rear. Pretty well dialed NGT2 brakes, Ticar body kit so it's not the stock body but then it's got the front and rear bumper updates, so, 10 out of 10, ready to go?
    - [Jasper] Yeah, um--
    - [Alex] OK, we're good.
    - Yeah, so this is Alex's Volkswagen Beetle like I said before. Little bit of discoloration in the front bumper,
    - [Alex] That's a clear bra.
    - That's no excuse.
Like Alex said, the wheels are a little dated. If he did not, the wheels are very dated. Um, and your carbon fiber lip is cool on these, but the red strip is just a little, a little much.
    - It's too much.
    - Also, the only thing that really stands out to me, I think, is the front headlights. This chrome piece would be really cool if that was paint matched. Also, if the headlight housing was black maybe, just because these lenses are so big.
    - Yeah.
    - Compared to what the car is.
Overall, I mean, you really can't go wrong with a Porsche 911, being a Euro guy, you know you can't, like, it's kind of the, not the ultimate car but it's damn near up there.
    - I think Jasper covered most of it.
I, uh, it's nice all around. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels, just 'cause they are a little dated. They're not bad, though. Body paint looks clean, looks very nice. Adds a nice flair to the car that not everybody would notice.
    - [Jasper] Yeah I didn't know this was a kit, actually.
    - Yes.
    - There it is.
    - Granted I have never looked at a 911 that hard, but.
    - Oh dang.
    (all agreeing)
    - Let's rate this.
    - Alright on three.
    Ready, one, two, three--eight.
    - Eight.
    - Seven and a half.
    This is really awkward.
    - Oh man.
    (Jasper laughs)
    - Onto the next car, right?
    - Yeah, onto the next car.
    - Onto, I think, an even better car.
    - Dom's car.
    - Right?
    - Yeah.
    - Best of the best.
    (beeping) Vehicle three.
    - OK.
    Vehicle number three is
    - Get that trophy outta here.
    - Dom's car, oh yeah.
Dom doesn't get a trophy, he's not that cool.

    - [Dom] So, this is my 2015 Subaru WRX.
It's an 18 x 9 Rota G forces plus 30 offset. It's wrapped in a Continental DWS ExtremeContact. Got some nice Rally Armor mud flaps on there, some River Valley Road Rally stickers, full invidia exhaust from the downpipe all the way back, and intake shifter bushing, short shifter, pitch stop mount, I think that's it.
    - [Jasper] What do you count over there?
    - Sixteen stickers.
    - Sixteen stickers.
    That's a lot.
    - [Alex] That's a lot of stickers.
    - Like 125 horsepower.
    - [Both] Yeah.
Stock suspension because I do a lot of hardcore off road, things like that.
    - No you don't, no you don't.
He's really good at driving it on gravel roads.
    - I don't think I've actually seen this car in dirt.
    - Yeah, he's really good at driving in gravel roads.
    - That does not count.
    - What dirt has this car seen?
    - Got some, yeah Dom.
    - Alright, let's get started early, why don't you guys just go ahead--
    - No you go first Jasper, I'll let you take the reins.
    - The reins.
So let's start with that, he's got these Rally Armor mud flaps just, you know, for all that dirt driving that apparently goes on, um.
    - [Alex] Just because you have a dog doesn't mean you go off roading.
    - I too can pull into a yard, you don't understand.
    - [Dom] You won't get out of it.
    - Oh I'll show you a thing or two.
Anyway, yeah so as you can see, there's a lot of stickers going on here. He's got the single tip exhaust, which I now know that Subaru's aren't actually a true dual, but yeah, I mean, it's a new model Subaru and you really can't go wrong with it, I mean you can obviously get away with the stock height and the Rally look because it is a Subaru and that is just the culture, I mean.
    - I think the tires are great, awesome choice. Um, not a huge fan of the wheels, but that's just my opinion. I do like the ability to daily drive, four doors is like by far the best thing that you can do for a car if you're driving it all the time. And of course Subaru in the winter months is a no brainer. Uh, I would rec, I would see this car probably being a little bit better with some form of lowering to it, now you don't necessarily have to go with coilovers or anything like that, you could go upgraded shocks and some different springs or something like that to lower it, dial it in a little bit more. I see that it's got a poke fitment so it's just a little bit pokey, but not bad at all. But I mean besides that, it's a pretty fundamental Subaru, so not a whole lot you can really kind of base it off of. But, yeah, do you vape?
    - [Dom] Nope.
    - [Alex] That's a lie.
    - Once in a while.
    - That's, uh, means yes.
So that being said, we're going to rate it on three.
    - Right.
    - Right?
    - Right.
    You're not wrong.
    - Alright, cool.
    One, two, three--five.
    - 10.
    - Seven and a half.
    - Yeah.
    - That was a 10.
    - That's--
    - That was a 10 right here.
    - That was a 10?
    - Yeah.
    - Where?
    - Where on the car?
    - Are we looking at the right car?
    - Yeah what part of the car are we?
    - You might want to help him out.
    - Oh, yeah.
    - 'Cause he might just off road through the garage door.
    - [Jasper] Oh, you know, this is such a rally car I thought you could just blow through those garage doors. Oh, OK, have fun.
    - Alright.
    - [Dom] Yeah, we are here.
    - Oh Jasper got a ride.
    - [Dom] That was a long way.
    (engine revving)
    - [All] Whoa, whoa, whoa.
    - [Dom] Watch out.
    - [Alex] Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Grocery getters aren't supposed to make that noise.
    - OK, OK, hopefully it doesn't tweak out.
    (Alex cheering)
    - Yeah.
    - This thing's dope.
    - OK, so let me tell you about the car.
It's a 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltracks, sorry I'm not talking into the mic.
    - [Dom] You're good, you're good.
    - [Andrew] And, uh, it's airlift per
